Uche Val Obi, a senior lawyer in Nigeria and managing partner of Alliance Law Firm in Lagos, has announced that the topic of his firm's annual lecture in 2022 will be "Developing Nigeria through Philanthropy."
The SAN claimed that the event would also be special in
that it would fall in line with previous events and the firm's 20th-anniversary
celebrations.
"Dr. Ernest Azudialu-Obiejesi, Chairman & GMD of Nestoil Group, Neconde Energy
Limited, and Obijackson Foundation, is our renowned guest speaker.
The former Country Chair & MD of Shell Petroleum
Development Company (SPDC) and Chairman of Julius Berger Plc, Mr. Mutui
Sunmonu, will preside over the occasion, he said.
The event will be held in Victoria Island on October 8,
2022, and a number of important dignitaries and policymakers, including
business leaders, parastatal leaders, senior lawyers, and other stakeholders
are anticipated there, according to the attorney.
The company hosts an annual lecture series as part of
its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to educate business executives,
government officials, professionals, and other stakeholders on current topics
that support nation-building.
Mr. Dotun Suleiman served as the keynote speaker for the
inaugural edition, which was hosted at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Victoria Island
in September 2018. Prof. Pat Utomi served as the event's moderator. Mr. Oscar
Onyema and Mr. Austin Avuru. The focus of the event was corporate governance.
Dr. Ernest Ndukwe served as the moderator of the 2019
version, which featured the theme "Leveraging Technology to Develop
Nigeria." Sir Leo Stan Ekeh was the guest speaker, and Dr. Andrew Nervin,
Mr. Patrick Akinwuntan, Mr. Mike Ogbalu III, and Ms. Lynda Ikeji served as
panelists.
The company organized international webinars on Virtual Legal Proceedings and Taxation in place of the event in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic disruptions.
